Overall a good choice if you want to spend some money on pretty good meal.
Pros:
- Big portions.
- Set menus okay value.
- Tepanyaki tables perfect for groups (they cook the food on the table in front of you and serve straight on to your plate).
Cons:
- The restaurant is so spacious that it reminds me of a canteen. Not exactly a place for intimacy.
- While the food is good, it does have a Kenyan twist, or is it Korean/Kenyan?
It might be an idea to book if you're after a Tepanyaki table a Saturday night, but apart from that Furusato has so much space now that booking is rarely necessary.

Not bad. In Nairobi restaurants seem to be either in a mall, or in a house with a garden. Furusato is in the house & nice garden category. The seating area is pretty enourmous, but it actually fills up on a Saturday night. The sushi and sashimi is good. Not fantastic, but good. I've actually not tried the BBQ, which looks like a good option for a group. How does it compare to the other Japanese in Nairobi? One of my Japanese friends thinks it is better than Tokyo and Onami. I'm not sure whether I agree that it is better than Onami - but it is more even definitely. No big surprises.
