I found Pango quite disappointing. It is not that the food is really bad - it is just not a gourmet restaurant as I thought it would be. I had French friends in Nairobi recommending it, so I thought it would be a memorable dining experience. This is a formal place. The ambiance is a bit 90s, but okay for a celebration. The service might seem attentive, but then again it not. When you really need a waiter he (they are all men) is not there. None of the dishes we had were at the aahhaaaa level. The most disappointing was probably a starter we had with "chevre". We actually got a horrible industrial cheese that tasted worse than any Browns product. We were there for a birthday celebration, and they had prepared a nice card, cake and everything. It just wasn't up to the standard I'd expect and the bill at the end of it.
